Choosing a cheap web hosting provider can be a somewhat difficult task, but it really doesn’t have to be. If you do your research and take your time, you will end up with a great host and some extra money to spend. If you choose the first host you see, chances are you will end up with low-quality hosting, and you will probably be overpaying for it. Below you will find some resources to help you choose cheap web hosting:
1. This site
This site has a large section of legitimate, honest reviews of some of the top web hosting companies out there. We are constantly reviewing new hosts, and we are sure to keep old reviews up to date in case something changes. I recommend starting here, and moving on only if you need to.
2. Google
Google is an excellent resource for anything, but it’s extremely helpful for searching for cheap web hosting. There are several ways you can use Google to your advantage, but I recommend just searching for “web host name reviews”. So, if you check out a GoDaddy plan, and are wondering if GoDaddy is a good company to work with, you can just google “Godaddy review” or “Godaddy hosting review”. Try to ignore the paid or “sponsored” results, and look only at the organic, real results.
3. Webmaster forums
If you are a member of any webmaster forums, you can simply go there and make a post asking what peoples’ favorite cheap web hosting providers are. If you are not already a member, I highly recommend joining. Forums like DigitalPoint, V7N, and Namepros are very helpful for the up and coming webmaster, and there is a wealth of information available, in the form of threads and posts, all for free!
