If you want to share your opinions and have fun, a blog is a great choice. Blogging can be a hobby, or it can be an actual career. Whether you want to make money or you’re just looking for a productive way to spend some time, I highly recommend setting up a blog. Unfortunately, most people don’t know how to use cheap web hosting, or how to set up any kind of hosting. There are several ways to host a blog, but I recommend choosing carefully.
The first, and probably easiest way is to use a free blogging service like Wordpress.com or Blogger.com. While both these websites are completely free and allow you to make decent blogs easily, they are limiting in many ways. If you just want a very simple blog and don’t think you’ll expand later, then a free blog will do just fine. However, if you want to do anything creative or possibly expand in the future, I highly recommend buying cheap web hosting and setting up a real blog.
A lot of people freak out when they have to deal with cheap web hosting, and they assume that since they aren’t using a service they will have to hand-code everything. This is simply not true. There are several softwares (most of which are free) that give you a control panel/backend similar to the backend you’d have with Wordpress or Blogger. The most popular blog backend is Wordpress.org, which offers a free software (called Wordpress). Wordpress software allows you to have a very user-friendly control panel, but doesn’t limit you at all like wordpress.com blogs do. There are a lot of guides on the Internet that explain how to set up and use Wordpress, so if you’re confused I recommend doing some research.
