However, no matter how cheap it is, you are still paying for it, so you should also take in to consideration the services that you will receive.

Here are some of the things to consider in choosing web hosting providers that offer cheap web hosting services:

  • Keep in mind that not all web hosting providers are reliable. Thus, you should check if the hosting provider guarantees a high uptime percentage. For reliable web hosting providers, the uptime percentage would be 99.99%. A high uptime determines the presence of your website to the World Wide Web.
  • Aside from uptime, you should also consider checking the availability of customer service. It would be best to have a customer service that can be contacted anytime whenever you encounter problems.

Most likely, one of the main dilemmas of business owners is whether to choose cheap web hosting services for setting up their websites or not.

There are a lot of web hosting companies that offer cheap web hosting packages and it is very evident that these web hosting companies are competing against each other to increase subscribers. Because of the strong competition, a lot of cheap web hosting packages are being offered.

Those who would like to setup a website for their business are quite hesitant about the companies that offer these cheap web hosting packages. It can’t be helped because some services may not be that first-rate compared to the more costly hosting packages. However, an affordable hosting package doesn’t compare to an unreliable hosting company.

True enough that it is quite difficult to find a dependable company that offers unconquerable web hosting packages. You need to be vigilant and not just subscribe to the first company that you see that offers affordable web hosting services. It would be best to check out various web hosting companies first and evaluate their services and rates. The company that you will choose should also be reputable and reliable.

You can do additional research about the web hosting company that you are thinking of choosing so that you will have an idea if it provides good service or not. If it received a lot of positive feedback from customers, you may want to review the company’s profile and the services that it offers to make certain that you will be making the right choice by selecting this company.

With a cheap web hosting service, you will be able to save more money and keep it for other purposes. Aside from that, you are also able to gain web presence, which will also bring you more customers and help you increase the revenue made.

There are a lot of web hosting companies that offer cheap web hosting packages. However, these packages also have their differences in terms of the services being offered. Some web hosting companies provide cheap web hosting packages with very limited features unlike other companies that offer excellent features.

If you have a business and you want to have online existence to acquire more customers, it would be best to look for a good reliable host that will ensure that your business website is running all the time. Therefore, if you decided to subscribe on a cheap web hosting package, then here are some tips on what to look for in a web hosting service:

  • One of the most important things to look for in a cheap web hosting service is the disc space. You should take into consideration the amount of disc space that the hosting company allocates on the package that you choose. Do not just take into consideration your current needs but also your future needs as well once your business expands.
  • A good way to manage your site and upload your files is via file transfer protocol or ftp. Some websites allow ftp access in their packages while others restrict their subscribers with the site builder software to manage their website. The site builder is good for beginners but for experts, it would be ideal to utilize the ftp access in managing the website.
  • Another important factor to consider aside from space is speed. Keep in mind that cheap does not frequently go with speed. Some web hosting companies offer cheap web hosting services with slow servers. This is not recommended because the speed of the server contributes a lot on the traffic of your website. If your server has a slow speed, then site visitors will have a hard time accessing your web pages and would rather close the window than explore your site more.

Reseller hosting in my own words is hosting that a person is trying to resell. Most of the time they are allowed to do this. Sometimes people just put addon domains without permission, even though they’re limited at times. You can earn a lot of profits from owning your own reseller hosting. The basic process includes you buying a server or just a large account, and re-selling portions as cheap web hosting plans.

To own your own reseller hosting company you have to buy it. It’s much more expensive than cheap web hosting, but it’s worth it. Something you may want to look for when buying reseller hosting is WHM (Web Host Manager) and CPanel. These 2 things make it A LOT EASIER. In WHM you can change add domains, accounts ,etc. You can manage just about everything. WHM is for the company. CPanel on the other hand is for the customer. In CPanel the user can add email accounts, addon domains, manage their files, manage their mysql databases, etc. If you’re going to own a big reseller hosting company make sure you’re experienced in solving problems with CPanel and connections. If you’re not and someone comes for help and don’t receive the help they need. You may also want experience in web programming. A thing that most people look for is a nice site.

Some other things you may want to look for are unlimited databases, space, emails, and just about everything else. The reason for this is so you can offer more to your customers and you can charge a bit more. If you’re new and not sure you really want to start a business go for Starter plan, but if you want to make big money you should buy the Business plan.

If you want to start a company where you can host things the United Stats considers illegal, then go for Offshore hosting.. What an offshore host is, is basically what it means, hosting that is not in the USA. Hosting not in the USA does not have the same laws as the United States. Other than, some restrictions (see host descriptions).

Now to switch points of views, if you’re going to buy from someone who’s offering reseller hosting, you should look for a few things. A big thing is customer support. Do they offer it on the site or do you have to go to the main site. If they don’t offer support I suggest not buying from them. Another thing to look at is their site. Is it a simple WHM Panel website, or does it look like they spent time on it. If they spent time working on their site it tells you they’re more experienced and well organized.

What is reseller hosting? Well, some companies who go beyond offering cheap web hosting also offer this product. Reseller hosting is the same as traditional hosting but with a twist, you get to sell hosting to others. You see some companies offer the opportunity for you to make a little side cash by reselling cheap web hosting or more expensive rate than the company usually offers. Depending on your plan, you may have a limit to the amount of cheap web hosting you can sell, or a space and bandwidth limit.

Let’s think of a cheap web hosting plan for an example. You pay 10 dollars a month for a reseller. You have a 15 account limit you can sell. You sell each of those accounts for 3 dollars each. In total you get 45 dollars a month and pay 10 for a net total of 35 dollars a month. Not only does your cheap web hosting pay for itself, but you get a little money on the side for yourself.

It’s just like cheap web hosting, as you can throw up your own sites on the server as well. The only difference is that you can actually PROFIT from it. There is, of course, a downside. It can sometimes be very hard to sell hosting, unless you own your own site and get a fair amount of traffic to it. Think about it – there are thousands of people out there competing for the exact same thing, so selling hosting is not exactly easy. It takes time, dedication, willpower, and luck to suceed with reselling cheap web hosting.

But don’t let that discourage you! The fact is is that reseller hosting really isn’t that expensive, so you really only need to sell a few packages here and there. You may profit, you may break even, or you may lose money. But you will never lose much.

It has come to my attention that many people don’t even know the basics of cheap web hosting. They are unsure of whether or not they need it for websites, how it works, how much it costs, etc. I realize that many readers here probably do know, but this article is for the individuals who do not.

Basically, web hosting is what makes websites appear to everyone through the internet. A website is made up of files, just like any document on your computer. Those files, when hosted using a cheap web hosting server (or any other type of hosting), coupled with a domain name, allow anyone in the world to see your website.

Hosting is necessary for all websites, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to pay for it. There are a number of services out there that offer free web hosting. Generally, the servers are very bad and are slow loading, but then again, what do you expect from a free product? Personally, I tell everyone who asks to get cheap web hosting, as it’s very affordable ($5 a month or less usually), but it works MUCH better than free hosting.

Hosting works just like storage on a normal computer does, except for that the files are publically accessable wherever there is internet. Hosting has nothing to do with the actual way websites appear, as that is all in the code of the website. I won’t get into that at this point, as it is a completely different ballpark.

Really all you need to know is this: If you want to run a site, the best way to do it is to buy a domain name (from Godaddy.com or something similar), and buy a cheap web hosting plan (find some good ones on this site), and set things up.

Cheap web hosting is great, but there are a few things you should know before buying it. The most important thing, at least in my opinion, is that there are often traffic limits impossed on cheap web hosting servers. What that means is that if you have a site hosted on one of these servers, and you are getting a boatload of traffic, you may run into some problems down the road.

Even if the plan says it offers unlimited  bandwidth, the vast majority of cheap web hosting providers will set a daily traffic limit. For 99% of people, this won’t be a problem. Unless you are getting more than a few thousand visitors each day, you shouldn’t have to worry. If you get more than a few thousand UV’s/day, I would suggest switching to a dedicated server or a VPS.

Most of problems with too much traffic come from inconsistent traffic. What I mean by that is that if you get 100 visitors one day and 5,000 the next day, you’re host is probably going to shut you down temporarily. You may  be thinking “well, that would never happen!” – but the fact  is it can, and it does. Especially if you are using social media for promotion, you can get massive surges of traffic (sometimes 50,000+ in a day), which will cause some serious problems with your cheap web hosting server.

Most cheap web hosting companies, at least the respectable ones (the ones featured on this site, for instance), will send you a warning before suspending your account. However, they usually don’t wait very long. It’s not that they are evil, it’s just that they are a business, and really, you are only paying them a few bucks a month, so why should they really care? Fortunately many of the more respectable hosts have back up servers for these situations, so I recommend sticking to the known hosts.

If you are new to hosting, you are probably wondering how it all works. Well, each cheap web hosting plan is different, and they often have different control panels. There are only a few contol panels that are popular, but there are many, MANY out there. Some of the cheaper (too cheap) hosts use the lesser-known control panels on their hosting packages because they are cheaper, or often, free.

The most popular cheap web hosting contol panel, and the best in most people’s opinions, is cPanel. cPanel has a web-based interface, that most people say is very easy to use. It may be confusing at first, but once you get used to it it is easy. cPanel is thought of as a “next generation control panel”, mainly because it is very feature-rich. Unlike many other options, cPanel allows users to control virtually every aspect of their web hosting experience, while keeping  fairly simple functionality so even novices can operate the software.

The second best control panel, at least in my opinion, is DirectAdmin. DirectAdmin isn’t usually included in cheap web hosting, but I think it should be. Though slightly limited as far as functionality, DirectAdmin makes up for everything with ease of use. DA has been named many times, both by individuals and a number of cheap web hosting providers, as the easist control panel. I honestly don’t know why DirectAdmin is not included in more plans.

There are many more control panels, each of which does basically the same thing, just in a different way. I would say that there is currently about 50 control panels in use, but there could be more than that. The vast majority of cheap web hosting you will buy will be backed by cPanel, so it would be worth it to learn how it all works now, as you’ll probably be dealing with cPanel for the rest of your time as a webmaster.

Weblogs, or blogs, are very popular these days. It seems like everyone and their dog has a blog. But how do they host them? How do people with very little knowledge of the internet manage to set up a blog and host it without spending a fortune? Well, it turns out that there is a specific kind of cheap web hosting designed for blogs. It’s called blog hosting or weblog hosting, and it is usually very affordable.

There is blog hosting available from most cheap web hosting companies, and in fact, blogs can also be hosted on pretty much any server, so if you already have a server or shared plan, you can host your blog on that. If you don’t already have hosting, cheap web hosting providers such as JustHost, BlueHost, etc, have blog hosting.

If you would rather not pay for cheap web hosting, then check out any of the number of free blog hosting providers that are out there. Most of them, such as WordPress and Blogger, allow you to create a blog, host it for free, and begin posting, all without needing to spend a dime or know much about computers. How do they do this? Well, usually it involves advertising on your site from time to time in order to cover costs. WordPress.com blogs will display ads occasionally for short periods of time, and once the company behind WordPress has earned enough to cover what it has spent, the ads will be removed.

The downside to free blog hosting, and the reason that I recommend springing for a cheap web hosting plan, is that the free services rarely allow you to have your own ads on your blog. This may not seem like a big deal now, but trust me – in the future, you will regret going with a free blog.

In a world where most people end up filling up their computers storage with useless stuff, online file hosting can be very helpful. File hosting is basically the same as normal cheap web hosting, except it only allows files, and not web pages. If you have a large amount of files, or you want to have a good backup, file hosting is a good choice.

Like cheap web hosting plans, cheap file hosting is, well, cheap! It’s usually much cheaper than website hosting, simply because less is going on. Plus, since generally the files are only accessible by you, there is no traffic, and therefore no bandwidth used. This makes these plans very affordable, and many take this approach instead of buying a larger hard drive, external hard drive, etc. While both have their merits, I prefer online file hosting, simply because you can access your files anywhere that there is internet.

You can also host files on cheap web hosting servers, but it is usually much more expensive. Of course, when I say “expensive”, it doesn’t mean much. Cheap web hosting is usually only about $5 per month. File hosting prices vary, but usually they are very affordable, and more often than not, completely free! File hosting companies usually allow you to access your files through FTP and web, but as with anything, this varies from provider to provider.

As far as free file hosting goes, MediaFire seems to be the best service. They offer unlimited file hosting, and charge absolutely no fees. From my personal experience, mediafire has always been a great provider, and I have never had any problems as far as losing files, not being able to access my files, etc. filehosting.org is also a great source, which pretty much offers the same thing.
